10 miles: 25 min drive


Renowned for its Blue Flag Beach, this sandy stretch is worth a visit if you want to experience sandy toes.  A lovely new (2020) cafe with dine in or take out options.

Tangmere Military Aviation Museum

2 miles : 4min drive or 25 min walk

One of the UK’s leading aviation museums, it is home to an impressive display of historic aircraft and has a unique collection of aviation memorabilia stretching from the First World War through to the Cold War. 

West Dean Gardens
National Trust

8 miles: 17 min drive

A beautiful house estate with stunning gardens and grounds.  They run courses at the house (which need to be booked in advance). There is also a lovely coffee & gift shop.   They run events through out the year so it’s worth checking their online calendar.

Just around the corner form West Dean.  An open air museum of historical houses restored and re-erected here.  Featured in several BBC historic series’ as well as 'The Repair Shop'.  They run events throughout the year so it’s worth checking their online calendar.


Chichester Festival Theatre

If you’re lucky enough to catch a show or performance while in town then you’re guaranteed a lovely and entertaining evening. Check performance schedules & booking online.  Make an evening of it with a pre-theatre diner at a restaurant on North Street, Chichester.

Chichester & Cathedral

Known for its Festival Theatre, stunning Cathedral & grounds and an ancient wall walk around the town.  There are lots of shops, restaurants & a beautiful Priory Park too.  The Novioum museum is worth popping in to for its roman remains and tourist information.

Halnaker Windmill
South Downs

4 miles: 15 min drive or 20 min cycle

 20 min walk to Windmill summit

This iconic Sussex landmark, perched on Halnaker Hill and visible from a wide surrounding area, is well worth the climb to admire close up. The wildflower-rich chalk grassland at the hilltop is a great spot to get away from it all and enjoy fine views of the coast across a patchwork of woods and farmland and have a picnic.

Tinwood Estate

3 miles: 15 min cycle 

The Tinwood Estate’s vineyards are situated in the heart of West Sussex at the foot of the South Downs National Park and have established a reputation for producing the very finest English sparkling wines.  Enjoy a wine tour and tasting session in this magnificent setting.

Fishbourne Roman Palace

Home to the largest residential roman building discovered in Britain.  This beautiful archilogical site dates back to 75AD.  This preserved (mainly undercover) palace has been excavated and preserved: with a museum to marvel and admire Roman treasures, gardens to explore and an onsite café.

Arundel & Castle

10 miles: 14 min drive

A beautiful historic town nestled by the river Arun.   You can visit both inside the Cathedral & the Castle (so ideal on a wet day too).  Lining the streets you will find tea shops, antique markets and old book stores.  Down by the river there are stunning views of the Castle, Ice Cream, crazy golf, a children’s park, large duck pond (with hire boats) and a great Wetland centre.

Bosham

7.5 miles: 16 min drive

A pretty, seaside harbour village, located on the Solent.  Take advantage of a low tide and walk across the Quay.  Watch out for parked car’s on the seafront… you may see an unsuspecting owner flooded at high tide! (You have been warned!).

Bosham Walk offers cream teas, vintage finds and children’s pottery painting. 

Brighton & Pavillion

29 miles: 51 min drive

Not too far is the bustling town of Brighton. Renowned for its Pavilion, Laines and bustling night life: this costal hub nestled between the sea and South Downs countryside won't disappoint.
